Keep getting a purple screen if i switch it off at wall socket it will re-boot itself it also goes into standby on its own when it does this it fails to record .
After several calls to sky when they kept re-setting the box an engineer is calling next week any advice from anyone will be helpful as i dont trust them.

Sorry, but it sounds fried to me!
You could alternatively buy a new one on eBay and get it registered. Probably a lot cheaper than the way your heading, unless you have an agreement in place.

It's only 6 months old , any electrical item should be fit for purpose for 5 years.

Then it will be replaced under the terms.
They do break down occasionally. Pace is reckoned to be one of the better brands of Digibox tho.
