I have around £400 (more if needed), to treat myself, on either a laptop / netbook or iPad. It will be generaly used to surf the net, watch films, photo editing, gaming and possibly Word / Powerpoint (or variants). What shud I go for? Size doesnt really matter but I rather nothing to big. Tks ABers.

Can pay more, no problems, but just want a system that I can enjoy. Mobile internet not that important as can use my iPhone if desperate.
I have had a play with an ipad and found it like a big ipod really, I would read some reviews of netbooks and ipads with a view to how if fills your needs before making a decision personally,

Have read reviews and iPad not top of my list but they look fun and it is always interesting to hear ABers views. Am leaning towards a good netbook but am unsure about no dvd disc drive in them.
No disc drive in an iPad either but at least there is a usb port in a netbook.

If you don't intend carrying it round all the time, get a laptop.
If you need portability get a netbook. I love my little Samsung. Fantastic keyboard.
