You put stuff you don't want/need on it and people can have it for free if they collect.
McMouse brilliant avatar....

No but have thought about it as I always seem to have stuff others might be able to make use of

I've got bags of plaster and dry wall adhesive. Do you think they'll go?

What about videos?
I thought if you bought a bike, you were allowed on the drivers' road for free anyway.
I try to use it but unfortunately you miss anything that is half decent. So I no longer waste my time.
I'm a member...but as greedy says...the good stuff will go quickly...and I can't collect.... :-(
some very genorous people on there
It's a great place to give away what you don't need without just throwing it in the bin. It's great for people who are starting out/students/people in financial hardship to get decent stuff for nothing until them can get better. It's a really good idea.
I think I once saw a car in my local listings....!!
I use it all the time - to get rid of stuff, not to acquire it.
It's amazing what people will take - I've never failed to get rid of anything.
There are a lot of timewasters - people who say they'll collect and then don't.
I suspect some people who use it are parasites - take anything to sell on ebay.
Some of the "wanted" adverts are difficult to believe - e.g. they want cars, vans, laptops, motorbikes!
yes ive seen names that pop up all the time asking for a wide range of stuff , i wonder if they do sell on ?
They probably do. As long as I get rid of what I want rid of I am not bothered what they do with it. It's a great way of getting rid of all the things you never use.
My group forbids selling stuff on,unless for a charity or church- but who's to know??
Exactly. I wouldn't personally get something off there knowing someone else probably also wanted/needed it and sell it on. It's not very fair. But as Pasta says, who would know?
Carakeel and I use it from time to time, especially for sofas to throw to the dogs to chew on, well the wolfhound pups do like their home comforts as well!!

I also see people picking up boats, caravans, welders, sheds etc. Some people do have a bloody nerve though I see things in the wanted column like.

Silver Sony separates wanted. Van wanted, must have MOT, Computer must have windows XP installed and working, with monitor.
The silly think is they actually get these things, I just wouldn't have the nerve!!

We did ask for some shrubs, trees and ground cover plants recently and got what we asked for :-)

The idea is only to stop things going to landfill sites that could be put back into use.
The idea is also to help people out who need it Ratter.
"Bags of plaster/Videos"
I've got rid of plasterboard offcuts, old dilapidated fence panels, half a bag of cement, partial tins of paint, creosote, a bucket of rusty nails ... and videos.
