Yes, but why?
It prevents your boiler from getting clogged with limescale.

it keeps dripping water now n again.this combimate was already installed when we moved inand there was no boiler till we got 1 fitted???????????????

Hmm, but since you are going to need a plumber to take it away off the wall and reconnect the pipework, why not just ask him to stop the leak? Its probably only the seal between the clear plastic bit (that comes out with all the little spheres inside) and the body. Have you removed the clear plastic bit to look at the condition of the spheres? They have to be renewed annually, you know.
