Hearing Aid loop systems

Probably not the right section but, I have NHS hearing aids which have a button to press to activate the loop function (used to be called the T setting)
I have been in countless shops, banks etc., which display a sign saying that they operate a loop system. However, I have never yet found one that works. My hearing aids work fine because my local church have a loop system, and they work OK there.
Do other people find the same problem?

My friend had a digital aid which was calibrated so you didn't have
to use the loop system , i think you will have to go back to audiology
to have it reset , or maybe the Gp .

Thanks 'theonlyone', but there is nothing wrong with my hearing aids, they are designed to work on a loop system, but only if the loop system itself is working, and that is my point, I have never found a shop, office or bank that has it working. Perhaps the onus is on me to ask them to switch it on!!
denis567 ..just ignore the stupid answers , most people on here do post
good answers .
If you know it works (because of your church), have you asked the bank etc if they have got theirs switched on? Perhaps they don't know it doesn't work or that it may be broken. Just a thought.
I was recently inside a bank and they had the loop system leaning against a wall in the office. I presume you would have to ask though they may have been having problems and removed it from a till.
I think some of the contacta tills have them built in, but again could be switched off until you ask.
I think a lot of shops etc.only pay 'lip service' (no pun intended!) to the law by displaying the sign, and no one bothers to switch the loop system on. I was in my bank some time ago and asked the assistant if it was switched on, she said you had to ask for it to be switched on, I said, well I am asking, so first she lifted this great box onto the counter, then didn't know how to switch it on, she asked someone else how to do it and they said that it had to be charged up first,( probably would take about 12hours!!!)You can imagine the irate looks fron the queue behind me. It is so maddening, and it would make their life so much easier if they did bother to put it on, if they did but realise it.

Thank you dingaling, so it looks as though I shall have to ask for it to be switched on, but I hope I get a better result than you did!!
