Ok...so it takes light from the sun 8 minutes to reach us. So when we look at the sun, we see it how it was 8 minutes aho. So if the sun burnt out, would we get light for another 8 minutes, or would we go dark straight away?

yup, just like the stars we see are sometimes millions of ligh years away, so they may have already gone supanova and dissapeared 5 million years ago, and we wouldnt see it for another 5 million.... just goes to show what a HUGE space there is in... er.. space lol
