Exchanging ceramic hob

my husband does general property & garden maintenance as a little business. He has been asked if he can take out an existing ceramic hob fixed in worktop and replace with a new one, like for like. Although he is quite capable of doing this he is not sure if he is allowed as he has no electrical qualification. Does anyone know if he is able to please? or is there a web site that he could refer to? many thanks

The rule has always been that the work has to be done by a competent person - that has ALWAYS been the case.
The more recent rules about Part P say that fitting or changing a cooker, back to a fixed switch on the wall does not require notification or a Part P qualified electrician.
