I am having Sky + installed tomorrow and have had a letter saying I might want to think about where I want the cable laid that leads to the telephone socket. Can anyone tell me how thick the cable is please. Will it go at the edge of the carpet?
I have my phone and broadband in the telephone socket, so can I have a 'splitter' put into the same socket?
Thanks for the help I know you will give me.

Yes you can use a splitter and the cable is only small and will hide around the edge of a capet with no problem.

If you have one they will probably put it along the top of the skirting board.

Well, its all done. The engineer was in an out so quickly, I'm surprised he had time to do anything, let alone answer any of my questions.
Anyway, I can probably find out myself. One thing though, as soon as he had programmed the 'thing' he took the phone cable out, and just left it at the back of the set.
I am a bit scared of it at the moment, the cables are like french knitting at the back, can I unplug the plugs to sort them out. Also, do you unplug yours when you go away, or at night etc.
Thanks for any help ypou can give me.
hi,

Yes of course you can unplug them to sort them out, if your unsure then get some masking tape or similar to make a little label for each cable so you know where they go back.

No don't bother to unplug at night, but if you go away for a long period then yes you can unplug it.
