what is the job title of the people who do land measurments for the land registry .Is it architecture..I know they do design but is it another branch ?? thanks

The word you're looking for would seem to be 'surveyor'. However, there are different types of surveyor. The type of work you refer to would probably be carried out by a 'technical surveyor' ( also known as a 'surveying technician'). See here:

thanks for that would it be a surveyor who does measurments on smaller drawings or do they only do land ?
There's probably no single job within the Land Registry that involves reading information from title deeds and building plans. It's likely that they'll employ people with a practical background in surveying or building, who will undertake many tasks. As well as technical surveyors, these could include land surveyors:
