I have a mortgage with my ex partner and they are looking to eventually buy me out. We only purchased the house 18 months ago and have another 18 months to go on the mortgage. Can I push for them buying me out now or will I have to wait until the mortgage term is served?

Thanks in advance

So you only had a 3 year mortgage? No, you don't have to wait until the mortgage is finshed, if you did people with 25year mortgages would be stuffed if they split up after a cou0ple of years!
that is as long as the mortgage provider agrees that your partner is in a secure enough position financially to be able to afford the mortgage alone or with someone else

Thanks for your answers.

The mortgage was for 25 years but we are tied to a fixed rate for 3 years before it can be changed/reviewed etc.
