What is the point of having separate bottle banks for different coloured glass when the lorry that empties them puts the whole lot in one heap in the back of the lorry?

Our local council no longer has separate bins for different colour glass as it is all mixed up, crushed and used in the foundations of roads so it doesn't matter what colour the glass was..
I believe it doesn't take many plonkers putting coloured glass in the clear slot for the whole lot to be rejected by the recyclers.
Perhaps they have given up because the world is full of plonkers.
They must be different to ours prophet, as ours get emptied into the top of the lorry where they are compartmentalised. (front, middle back etc)
