My daughter has bought a new PC which has Wndows Vista on it. I have managed to set it up for her, I'm at the 'tweaking' stage now, and because I have XP, I'm struggling a bit.

How can I -

reduce the size of the icons?

Change the opening page to Google?

I know how to do them on mine, but not on hers, so any advice gratefully received - and I may need to come back when I find other things I can't do!

Isn't technology wonderful?????

Hi Andy, I have Vista and as far as I can tell the Icon size are related to the screendimensions you are using, looks like you need to increas the size of the screen, same as you do in XP, right lclick on the desk top and properties and then find the scree resolution and drag the pointer so more pixels are on the screen, the the icons will be smaller.

The Interne start page is not related to the OS but the browser, just go to google and use the "set as home page" function in your browser.
Have I misunderstood the question ? Changing the icon size in XP is simple, and not related to screen resolution:

Ethel, I thoughthe meant that the icons where appearing big because of the resolution.
