Photos on ebay?

Is it true that you have to shrink the photo before its displayed on ebay, because if you dont, the picture takes forever to appear when someone is browsing?
Not sure if I explained this right, but help is needed...

It depends how big it is to start with. This is a good tutorial:

If you just insert them in the listing form page, eBay automatically shrinks them for you. I believe the big pictures you come across are presented via the HTML web link option.
It's not so much of an issue now that most people are are on broadband these days.
