I am trying to use a memory stick on a laptop that has Windows 98 on it. I managed to download a driver from the net and install it but I cant quite seem to figure out how to use the memory stick after this point. When I put the stick in the usb port, it recognises it saying 'new hardware found', then it looks for a driver and cant find one. I understand upgrading the laptop to 2000 would make sense but that is not possible at present. Any help would be much appreciated.

Click on "My Computer" and see if the device is listed, (could be E or F drive). Then, when wishing to save data, simply select that device. One thing is important, when closing your saved material and exiting the flash drive, be sure to close it down correctly from the pop up box. I don't have mine open at the moment, but it's an extra step to be sure the data is actually save...
