Assuming that you're referring to the great explorer Captain Cook, I haven't found any authority stating that he WASN' T a Buddhist; but it hardly seems likely that the 18thC British Navy and Government would have placed their trust in anyone but a God-fearing Christian. Where did you get this idea?
