A kilogram is a measure of weight a litre is a measue of volume there is no conversion.

If it helps a 10x10x10cm cube of water is a litre which is also a kilogram.
Question Author
hmmm... I remember being taught in school how to convert kgs to litres.
I'm trying to figure out if I could store 15kg dog food in a 19 L box
Yep. 1000ml = 1 litre = 1000g = 1kg
Question Author
So just to confirm Kim A, you're saying 1kg takes up as much space as 1Litre?
Well a kilogram of water would occupy one litre, but a kilogram of mercury would only occupy about 0.074 litres. 'cos it's heavy stuff. The thing you need in the equation is density, or specific gravity if comparing to water.
Question Author
If it helps then the box I'm after has got these dimensions:

315 x 205 x 270
(length x width x depth in mm)

Depends what it is - there is no set conversion. Kim A's conversion if it's true at all only applies to water.
Try this. Use a set of scales and weigh out 1kg dog food. Then put that 1kg dog food into a jug having a 1L capacity. If it fits, 15 of them should fit into a 19L box.
Question Author
Now Kim A why the hell did I not think of that. Simple and effective.
Thanks ;-)
It's my pleasure. Simply, simply, fittee dogfood................
thats 17435250 cubic millimeters, 1 cubic decimetre = 1million cubic millimeters so the box contains enough volume for 17.43525 litres, if it was filled with water the water would weigh 17.43525 kg

Loosehead, This might look silly when the answer between us gets wiped but I found the answer/s you contributed to this thread timely, completely accurate and pertinent to the question/s, asked.

Why would Clifs Bumboy's answer be wiped?

Surely Ed isn't THAT particular. And I don't have a problem with people voicing their opinions - it's a free country after all
I find nothing wrong with Loosehead's answers.
Nor did I. Waiting now for CBB to have a go at me............

happy_face, In my opinion, it is a fact that there is a difference between expressing facts or opinions and personal insults aimed at attacking another person for exercising their right to express their opinions or facts. Such attacks should not be tolerated, especially when they are not supported by any facts, in my opinion.

Freedom of speech, like any freedom we enjoy, implies responsibility. In the process of exercising our right to express our opinion we must also respect and defend the rights of others to express their opinion, whether or not we agree with that opinion. Freedom is not free; it comes at a price and if we are not willing or neglect to pay the price it demands all of our freedoms are in jeopardy.

I hope I have helped you to appreciate the difference between exercising ones freedom and attacking anothers but if not, thanks for asking anyway so that I can make the importance of this clear to those who can and do.
But, happy-face, did that chuffing dog food fit into the ruddy box or not?
so CBB you managed to get another name, what's your real name eh? Easy to hide behind aliases, I don't know what I've done to you in the past but clearly you are one of those gutless bullies who need gangs or anonimity to get your jollies.

I tried to help Happy-face, it seems you want to side with the retard.
