DVD-RAM is just another format of disk along with the rest..

DVD-RW can be written too from a blank disk. but may only play on your Panasonic.

To watch the time Panasonic slip function you need DVD-RAM.
Question Author
what is the time slip tellboy?

Straight quote from my Panasonic DVD Recorder manual:

1. Press TIME SLIP

2. Use ^ v to select the time that the playback should jump forward or back. If you press and hold the buttons, the time span increases or decreases minute-by-minute. If you hold the button, it increases or decreases in 10-minute units.

3. Press ENTER to confirm the selected time.

4. Press PLAY> to hide the picture in picture.

Hope this helps.
