can anyone tell me how many times you can record on a dvd Iknow you get 6 hrs per dvd but it's the amount of times that I can use dvd

They say on the packet "These discs are rewritable up to 1,000 times.".


You normally only get about 2 hours of video on a DVD so presume you are recording data. Anyway the morale is always have a backup copy.

You can use it about a 1000 times thats true, but the quality will suffer near the end of those 1000. You can indeed get 6 hours of video on one disc but again you have to reduce the recording speed and the quality suffers, Aim for about 2 hours tops on to one disc and the quality will be fine.

thanks tellyboy the dvd is for recording tv programmes to watch in the lorry when I'm away. I get 6hrs long play as machine can record upto 6hrs. but when I went to clear the dvd it came up failed and then it comes up file when I try to playback

thanks oggy777 the quality is alright it's just the dvd disc has stopped working
You probably have already, but if not, try cleaning the DVD.
