There were a lot of vespa models under different names in different countries but I would say the sportique was the most popular in the UK in the 60's

The Sportique was a 125cc job and not that popular among scooter oweners. I thing the GS (160cc) was more common until the introduction of the SS180.


I'm a Lambretta man myself (never liked the idea of the engine being on one side as in the Vespa. When you followed them - in preparation to swoop past - they looked decidedly lopsided). My SX200 was the Bees Knees.

Yeah, then a bit further down the road the Vespa 'swooped past' the broken down Lambretta!!! ha ha :)
