non starting vespa t5

my vespa t5 broke down & will not start, i have good petrol supply,compression,spark [i think]..stater wires/coil wires how good does the spark have to be ??
help me please

well...the spark has to be quite good...take the plug cap off the ht lead ...and hold the lead (with pliers) about 10-15 mm away from cylinder head whilst someone kicks it over. the spark should jump the gap...if not then its too weak and you could try borrowing another coil off a friends bike and try it again to see if your coil is duff. good luck and let us know how ya go!

thanks gonzo00..we think it may be the stater windings[spark].its gone off for testing/repair.hope you get my thanks [unsure how this site works]
sweet mate!....if you need your stator windings well rewound,then look for a company called westcountry windings...very reasonable prices and they really know what they're doing! good luck mate!

top man gonzo00,my vespa mate has taken the stater plate for testing etc..just in case its not the problem please could you keep your eye open for my next qu?.ill let you know if everythings ok though.[maybe over a weeks time].thanks again mate

hi gonzo00..my vespa t5 is now purring again..thanks for your advice..in the end i had little compression due to a small washer being in tne head.?????....freed off piston rings..& iam happy again..
