any plans or anything happening today?
Am off out for lunch later but other than that not really a lot on, may do some batch cooking for stews etc as my new job (when it starts) involves a busy 6 months of training and some travel and Mr RH is useless in the kitchen!
I also won £200 amazon voucher so am going to stock up on dog and cat food and coffee syrup for the pantry.
Anyway let me know what you have planned.

Lol douglas - its a silly game I play online - year before last I won £1000 in amazon vouchers - did the same then bought a load of specialist cat food.
//coffee syrup //

Wat dat den?
No. My day off has turned into a day of work. Apart from the kitty doctors. I'm a bit cross.

Oh no BM that is pants - do you get to charge double?

Its a sweet syrup that you put in coffee - you get many different flavours - my favourite is vanilla.
Nothing too exciting, just a needlework group this morning, bit of shopping, then might tackle the small pile of embroideries that need lacing onto cards. It's a boring job, and I keep putting it off.
Not exciting, but just got an email from our fuel company that off grid gas homes will be getting government £200 help from 6th Feb paid through electricity suppliers.
Oh and the sky is blue today!
No. And I am very annoyed.
Question Author
Yes our sky is blue and we have just received the £600 Government heating money that has been outstanding since October!
So will now top up the oil.
I have an absolute fortune in garden centre vouchers so will take a mooch round the garden centre before lunch - but will try and put off purchasing anything until later - but its so difficult lol

Oh dear BM I would not want to have to deal with you today!
Ordered our top up yesterday Red before I got the mail . £500.00 for less than half a tank. Glad we have a woodburner.

I know its such a silly price at the moment - when we moved in here in December 21 it was 210 for 500 litres its now 476!
Off to the farm shop for another sack of spuds and hoping they still have Seville Oranges as I’m thinking of having a bash at marmalade making over the weekend while Mr M watches the FA Cup matches!
Question Author
maydup - how does the price of the oranges etc weigh up to just buying the marmalade?
I am lucky himself actually likes cheap shreddless kind so I don't have to make it.
I used to make marmalade from scratch, but then I like really bitter intense ones , but it's an incredible faff!
Question Author
I remember you used to be able to buy a kit - you just added the sugar and water - did that a few times.
MaMade, they still sell it in the supermarkets. Add sugar and boil to death. Put in jars ( which you haven't been told to sterilise) wait until it goes mouldy then throw in the bin....
Question Author
lol
Not sure if this is exciting but, I'm off to buy some warmer vests later, my old ones are getting a bit thin and washed out.Its not getting any warmer out there. ;>)
