please help!


i have a new mp3 player and am trying to put my songs onto it using copy and paste, but it will only let me fill up half of the space, i tried to put music on it using active sync yesterday and got halfway and said the conversion failed, and today doing the copy/[aste method it has used half the free space and now tells me the parameter is incorrect! Help please!!

I once had a similar problem with MP3s showing larger size than actual. It was a problem with the tags. I disabled one of them (ID3v1, ID3v2) through Winamp and it showed its correct size. Though, I would guess, your problem probably lies with the MP3 player. If it's USB v2, have you got the correct drivers installed?. You should be able to drag & drop using your operating system alone (i.e. without Active sync).

i am nearly sure that its the device itself. i have been using drag and drop via windows but like i said, it will only let me use half of the available space.
Obviously I don't know what MP3 player you have, but I've come across a similar problem. Apparently my problem was that the MP3 player had a limit on the number of files placed in the "root" folder. I solved it by creating various folders using Explorer and putting some MP3s in one folder and some in other folders. That way I was able to fill my 512kb MP3 player to capacity.
