Shortening The Virgin Cable To Tv

My cable is yards too long and looks unsightly - is it easy to lop the excess off and reattach the connecting end?

I have no idea what like the cabling looks but could you not double it up and put it in a cable tidy such as

I dont see a problem with shortening the cable to the TV. Bit different if changing the outer cable (although I can assure you it can be done).
Did all mine with no problems, I had little choice in the end as they failed to come out to fix the initial problem. In the end I got the meter out and fixed the issue and sorted the cable at the same time.

I am less than remotely bothered what the occasional chippy AB'er feels is them being hard done to - but I do believe in defending others who are doing a job and don't need to have their integrity maligned doing it.
