Can anyone tell me which settings I need to change or configure, in order to watch the computer output on my TV. I have an s-video cable and the red & white audio ones, but nothing seems to happen. Thanks.

First, you should have video card hardware with AV output install in your PC such as Nividia or radeon then connect with using your s-video cable. Go to PC control panel and click the "display" Click the setting and then click advance. after that the configuration programme setting will appear on your PC monitor. Click the "display" and choose to connect TV.
you don't need the s video cable, you just need the ordinary yellow one as well as the red and white. s video as far as I'm aware is for cam corders. i watch my pc on the tele with just red white and yellow cables all of which are the same. hope this helps

Depending on your graphics card, you will need a driver to view properly.

Find out the spec of your graphics card and check out their website for the latest info. i.e. NVIDIA

Is it a recent nVidea video card? If it is I can help ya.

:-)
Damn, spelt nVidia wrong.

Thanks for the answers so far. It's an INTEL(R)82845G/GL/GE/PE/GVGraphics Controller, if that means anything to anybody.

I'll see if I can find a website for it, and hope I can figure out what to do with it when I do. And if I can find my cables again I'll give it a go without the s-video lead.....see what happens.

Cheers all.

If you have set up the configuration properly it will simply be a case of connecting the cables, right clicking the clip and 'watch on my tv' would be an option. If not go into nvidia display settings and change your display to a clone with the tv as your primary screen and then just playon your computer is should show also. Obviously set the TV to view the s-video av channel.

Thanks El D but it's not an Nvidia card, and I've been onto the intel website........guess what, I can't figure it out.

I've looked at the display options in Control Panel and can't find any way to change the Primary Display to the Secondary Display. (Of course I could be looking in completely the wrong place).

Even if its not an Nvidia graphics card, Nvidia have a piece of software called Nview which you can use to set up multi display outputs. I.E. monitor & TV.

Try this program. it has some wizards and tutorials too.
