recently purchased a housephone - didn't know we had a landline - don't ask.
Anyway, the only people who have our number is the 4 members of the alba household plus Virgin media. (obviously)

Today, the phone rang - wondered if it was a younger alba who for whatever reason phoned home instead of mum or dad's mobile.

Long and short - answered the thing - was getting a single pip - tried 1471 and the number is unobtainable.

I don't like mysteries - does one have to subscribe to 1471 nowadays?

Probably it was a spam call with a blocked phone number.

thanks Danny xx

I was used to hearing ''you were called at 14.21, the caller did not leave their number'' type of phrase.

Do hope you are keeping well (as can be x)
Not too bad Ellie ta,And you?
Actually your 1471 service should be working. If you are with Virgin Media I would give them a ring.
On my phone service, 1471 simply "hides" the number you are about to dial.
1571 tells me who called my number.
Ginge 1471 should tell you your last calls.
1571 should tell you any voice mails.
....yes, it does. My apologies....it's so long since I used the service!
:-)
It's 141 that 'hides' the number you are dialling.
It's 141 that 'hides' *your* number!
