Although I don't yet have a fan on my burner, I've been thinking about getting one and after looking at a bunch of images on google, all seem to be placed on the tops of the burners.

Just had another look at the make that you mention and this particular one, says its critical where it is placed and they claim it should be placed at the back edge of the stove.
