Whilst sitting & waiting for the kettle to boil -- tea & pot all prepared -- it always makes an awful din as the temperature rises. There seems to be an excessive amount of energy being wasted just to have H-2-O @ 100°C. Is there no device that is more energy-saving (& faster)? I expect a kettle on a gas hob would be a start. Now the kettle has boiled - I can hear it...
