This is a picture of my Dyson Cleaner. After putting the smaller head on to do the stairs, I found that the large head wouldn't fit back on to the hose and kept slipping off.

Should there be another purple clip to attach it to the hose? I don't want to hit a new head and find I didn't need one.

I've looked on pictures of Dysons to see if I can see something but haven't been able to conclusively solve the problem.

First time I've loaded a Tinypic, too.

chrissa....there are so many different models of Dyson, it would be a good idea to give the model number as there are quite a few different connecting adaptors that could be involved. We have two different Dyson uprights (get us!) and neither looks like your picture!
dyson - weight of it - throw it out. I did and it was only a year old. Terrible hoover. sorry can't help you Chrissa.

It's not an upright, ginge and I thought by providing a picture, (a first for me) somebody could look at theirs, if they have one, and tell me.
Question Author
Ooh. Can't agree, jj. Had them for years.
Usually the model numbers start DC
Question Author
It's a DC08T.

Looks like there is an adapter for the smaller head.
Perhaps you've left the adapter on?

I know it sounds stupid but I think you're right. I'll have another check in the morning. Too chilly in the garage, tonight.

Thanks, Tuvok.

I just rang the free Helpline and have found out that it's the Turbo Head clip that has either worn down or, a bit of it has snapped off.

I can get a new Head for £55 or a brand new machine for about £269.

Decisions, decisions.

Thanks for your help, Tuvok.
You might be able to get a compatible part - try a goigle search.
chrissa, don't do a goigle search do a Google search ( Sorry Tuvok couldn't resist) snigger snigger.
Question Author
Lol, wr.
