motherboard and memory issues

Is there any way that i can find out what motherboard im using without taking my computer apart as i wan to uprade my memory to 1g and not sure what sort of memory it can take or if it will take the sizes i need to use ie 2* 512

Download the evaluation auditing software from here  and install it: http://www.ezaudit.com/download/start.htm Run it and will tell you what mainboard you have and also what memory and in which slots you have. Go to the mainboard manufacturers site to check for suitable memory upgrades.
