Got my eyes tested a few weeks ago (in the clinic) cos I had a bit of pressure behind the eyes some years back.

Was fed up with the glasses I am wearing for 3 years now - went to Specsavers last Monday for a test and everything has remained the same - no change in 3 years. Hurray.

I received a "Golden Ticket" from them. This entitled me to half price glasses.

Did any of you know that. pS Picked cream spectacles with little diamonds on the legs - just a cupple (diamonds I mean).

Jj - are they rimless at the bottom with 3 'diamonds' on the sides? If so I have them too, they are really comfortable
Question Author
Margo - I just know they had cream legs (like my own lily white legs) LOL
with 2 diamonds close to the lens.

I got the thinnest legs I could get as last time or the time before the legs were too thick thus obscuring my view particularly in the car.
I bet both of you look like Edna Everidge:-)

Oh no Carrust - we are a cuppla swells - we dine at the best hotels.

They are lovely - very subtle.

I do notice people's legs (glasses) LOL
Carrust - thanks a bunch! Haven't quite got to the blue rinse st(age) yet.
I got new glasses from Specsavers last Friday. Rimless. 4 "diamonds" on each leg. Quite the prettiest pair I ever had but also most expensive.
Question Author
I swore that never again I would go too expensive as they are so easily broken

Paid 2 lots of £200 for glasses and within several weeks one pair just snapped.

These were dear enough only 2 diamonds so to speak.
Grasscarp - well that trumps my 3,guess it's inflation.
Top this then!....☺

I have just bought my first pair on-line......was worried because I have a complicated prescription and usually end up paying £400-£500 for a pair every year or so......

These were £150....they're perfect and there are 31 diamonds on each side...... mind you I had to put on my old specs and use a powerful magnifying glass to count them......xx

Well Gness - would the real Dame Edna Everage step forward. LOL
Gness - now you are just showing off! :-)
Damn it. Upstaged by Gness with her 62 diamonds!
You'd need to get snuggly close to see them.....think it's my new chat up line......

Mmmmm....would you like to come up and count my diamonds......♥
Question Author
Gness - I had read of you doing this in another post.

Would Specsavers have given me my latest prescription (since things hadn't changed) to order online.
Question Author
I love loads loads bling -
They should always give you your prescription, Conne....but often you have to ask.....x
Question Author
right - I would think that because they done the test they would be reluctant to give you the result/prescription.

anyway these will do - don't want to be too flamboyant.
and the prescription they give you will not include Pupillary Distance - which is measured from middle of one eye to middle of other (iris). I measured it for myself in the mirror and successfully ordered glasses online a year or so back for a fraction of the specsavers cost.
I suppose they don't want you taking the prescription elsewhere but I always ask for a copy for my records.....x
True, Grass......this company sent me the frames I had chosen with plain glass in....think they will send up to four for you to try at home......
I had to get a friend to mark mine because I couldn't see my face let alone the glasses and I'm thrilled to bits with them.

These are varifocals with thin reaction lenses.....x
