Yes. A phonecall to your bank should do it
Don't call the bank - they don't know exactly what contract you've entered into and how much money the company are entitled to take from you.

Seeing as *the company* have taken the wrong amount from you, I'd consider them my first port of call.

But the bank can stop any unauthorised payment from a switch card the same way a credit card company can.  i have had to do this in the past and it works

A bank can't stop a debit card payment from going through.  Once it has been debited to your account and you then query it, they can either refund you and be outstanding that money themselves whilst they sort it out or claim it back from the Company concerned and then refund you when/if they find that the debit is wrong amount or something.

chazza, I am the bank and I say 'speak to the company'.

;-)

fair enough.  I used to work in a bank too so i have experience from both sides!
