have seen a phone advertised and second hand which says its sim locked t mobile, does that mean that I can put my own sim in which is on t mobile network and the phone will work as I want to eepwn number and still be with t mobile, sorry but I have never done this before and am a bit thick when it comes to mobiles

You can put your own sim card in and it should work as both phone and sim are on T mobile.
I think so Jesmond, I've just upgraded my phone and given my old one to my daughter, she's PAYG on the same network and it's working fine.
After thought. The sim card sizes may be different but you can have them cut or buy an adaptor for this at any phone shop at a small cost £5 to £10 was what I was quoted.

If its locked to T mobile that means you can only use it with a T mobile sim inserted
