Ring it and ask?
Read the phone book until you find it

There is something you can buy, but I'm not sure where from.

I live in a rented house. About two weeks ago, I used our landline to order a pizza from the end of the road (without giving my house number or road), saying I would walk to the pizza parlour (five minutes away) to collect. About half an hour later, the pizza man arrived, despite only having the phone number of the house and nothing more.

Being ex BT Staff,I can tell you that there is NO way(unless you follow the 2 suggestions above) of finding an address from a phone number.

Many, many years ago BT Operators WERE allowed to give out addressess from phone numbers. This was stopped for two reasons 1.To protect vulnerable women in refuges from being traced by violent husbands.2.The data protection act.

Tock,I reckon whoever lived at your address before you had pizzas delivered too, and the pizza comapny just know the address from this?

OK you can try this as I have in the past. Ring the number and whoever answers, intoduce yourself *false name and company* say that by answering a few market research questions they will receive *example* a CD voucher. Ask them about 10 questions, like Do you eat in Mcdonalds, How much do you spend on DVDs, etc etc. When finished, ask for the address to send the voucher and thank them for taking part. It worked for me, but they were kids that were hassling a neighbour.

You might want to be more extravagant with your offerings. failing that, type the number into google and see if they have advertised anything for sale or something on a website notice board

There is a CD database called UKinfo (I think), which comes in various grades (costs) which allow you to do various types of search on the phone book.  However, the last one I say was a cover disc a couple of years ago, and was inaccurate for me.  They should have fixed it by now?  Anyone know more?
