Any light could be used, Ric. It just needs the right switching. Often, they switch ON at dusk, then OFF at a programmable time. I'm sure there must be one that goes OFF at dawn as well...........
Have a poke about here ...............

Any light fitted with a 'dusk to dawn' light bulb?
I just fitted an ordinary lantern up and changed the bulb to a 'dusk to dawn' low energy bulb.

It's for my elderly mothers flat so as simple as possible - it would seem the light bulb is the way to go
Have a butchers at this - all you need is a bulkhead light with a photocell.
