Because these anti olympic Lady Veggies are really pissing me off.
Why don't they put up or shut up.
Why don't you tell or show us why the other opening ceremonies were better ....?

Ratter absolutely fair enough but the point is there's been loads of slagging off without any suggestion of improvements (which anyone can do).

Im not slagging it off, I'm not anti Olympics, I have little interest in sports in general but wish my Country all the best in every event, I'm very proud of my country. I wouldn't know what to do better, that's why I wasn't chosen to organise the event.
This type of event isn't really my thing but I thought it would be worth watching, in my opinion it wasn't great and it didn't captivate me, but that is just me.

Ratter, I'm with you, I got insulted on a thread yesterday for saying I was not a fan of the games, but that does not make me anti the games either, they're just 'not my thing'.
The bits of last nights ceremony that I saw I enjoyed, but it was not something I wanted to watch in full. I thought Danny B did OK.
And until last night I didnt know the Queen Parachuted either.

Well I can only remember the Beijing opening ceremony. It wasn't better - just different.
Last night I enjoyed immensely. Pleased to see we did what we have been doing for the last 1000 odd years or so - namely take the P*** out of the rest of the world without the rest of the world really working it out.
I jest, it was funny; it was poignant; it show cased some of the things we are really good at; it was slightly messy at times - but hey with 7500 volunteers you don't want it too regimented; it was mind blowing in places and it showed we can laugh at ourselves. It was just damn good. And I hate the sodding Olympics (although I am gratified to see that Mary King is currently in the silver medal position on the first day of the eventing).
