why did the queens Bentley have no road tax or number plate ?, I thought all cars being driven on the public highway had to have both of these.

Not the Queen webbo, her cars are the only ones that do not have to have number plates.
The sovereign's car is exempt.

ps....why is everyone called Dave?
how would you get road tax on a car with no number plate?
Because she's the Queen, mate ! It's only the car or cars reserved for Her Majesty in her capacity as head of state that are plateless and taxless.

There's nobody to prosecute her, anyway, for anything; they'd be prosecuting her in her name and on her behalf and, if they tried, she'd issue a nolli prosequi (an order not to proceed) . We'd have to impeach her in some way. Suppose we should be grateful that she has any cars used plated and taxed for the whole of her family, herself included!

She's also the only person in England who doesn't have a driving licence.
My mum doesn't have a driving licence.
Yes but is her name Elizabeth, Zac lol.
My 15year old nephew doesn't have a driving license either.
She doesn't have to wear a seat belt either
// My mum doesn't have a driving licence.// Is your Mum the Queen Zacs ?
She does have a driving license BTW

She's not required to have one, but she has got one.
Damn and I was trying to keep my real identity secret.
They're cortesy cars, adverts for the makers
I bet there are still a few drivers on the road who got a full licence without having taken a test.
As far as i am aware many people learned to drive while they were in the forces WW2 and beyond.
There are drivers who never took a test; one of them is an ABer, but I forget who it is. They all have a licence, though. Those who didn't were automatically qualified to drive anything, when licences were issued. To my amusement,my late father was deemed to be qualified to drive both a tram and a trolley bus ( and turn them left or right without de-wiring, of course, that being part of the test)
My Grandad had a driving licence and never had to take a driving test.
