I really think cigarette prices are far too low even after today's tax rise.
I would say cigarettes should cost £40 for a packet of 20 rising by 20% each year plus inflation.

Urgh, a rabid none smoker- excellent!
Seeing as I've given up now....I agree! lol
As if the Black Marketeers aren't rich enough......
Yep, I agree, more expensive the better. Yep, I'm a non smoker!
You are not a very good or effective troll.
I really don't geddit.

I don't drink, but I wouldn't wish a massive hike on alcohol on others. What makes none smokers so venomous towards us smokers?
Yep and the same price for beer, wine and cakes but with hairshirts thrown in for free - lets increase the misery.
and I think you should stick a hot poker up you jacksie.................but that's just my opinion.
Make it 25% minimum, you're right, I don't smoke either

BOO

People breathe in other people's smoke from cigarettes
They feel they have a moral high ground B00, heaven knows why.

Why not make smoking illegal and everyone then has to pay 50% tax whatever their income??
Hence producing a black market for cigarettes along side off the illegal drugs trade. The government already gets over £11,000,000,000 per annum from smokers. Remove that from the governments coffers and you, Mr. Taxpayer, will have to make up the difference.
Partners go home and beat 10 shades of crap out of their families through booze Taxpayer...your point being?
Same with cars- i dont drive either, so lets massively inflate the cost of driving, after all, cars kill thousands don't they?
Taxpayer...you really would have to go out of your way to be a passive smoker now days!
Are you one of those people who tuts at smokers in a public park?
B00, i thought you'd given up?
Anyway taxpayer i refer you to my previous answer - All you have to do it become prime minister then you can tell everyone what to do!
A lot of ex smokers feel this way because they have conquered their habit through sheer hard work, there is no need to smoke. It is a luxury so its being taxed as such Im guessing.
if that ever happens, then smokers, please remember, I'll be selling them for a bargain £20 a pack after a little trip to France! Just message me on Facebok! ;)
