Emailed and seller says "not my problem" actually very hostile!!

I explained i had to wait till all parcels came PLUS royal mail wont accept as lost till over 15days..... Bloody idiot- now the seller has to complete the form to get compensation :0/

Cba with the hassel - can shove the £8.50 where the sun dont shine. Didnt include a return address either- idiot

It is the seller's problem. It isn't yours until the item has been received by you. That said, if the seller wants to be difficult you could be in for a hard time.

Always amazes me when a seller offers secure delivery at extra cost. They're basically asking the buyer to volunteer to pay the seller's security/peace of mind for them.
It's certainly their problem (and I know, I sell, and this does happen). Have you opened a dispute on eBay for non-delivery of the goods? You have 60 days to open a dispute.

If the seller didn't keep proof of postage it certainly will be their problem, as the transaction can be cancelled and eBay/PayPal will give you the money back.

PayPal have just refunded me for a transaction where I'd send the goods but the buyer didn't have enough money in the bank to pay PayPal - if the seller kept a proof of postage (for which you don't have to pay anything extra) then you should get your money back. Go do it now - don't waste time on here.

Don't leave negative feedback just because the item got lost in the post - the seller's not responsible if Royal Mail cocked up.
you only have 45 days form date of payment Box
As others have said it most certainly is their problem... the item is still their until it reaches your hands

you absolutely should open a dispute - on principle -which would push them into helping you. if the item has been returned to him - likely - then he has cash and item... i expect he is lying when he says there was no return address and thinks by bluffing it out he will get to keep both...

when you do leave feedback.. make it about the sellers rudeness not the PO - and when you do i FindThatWritingInThisStyleMeansYouCanFitMoreW

Tink doesn't need PoP at all the seller does.
The seller claims for lost parcels not the buyer
The buyer just uses Paypal to open a dispute
Not to sure what you mean by paypal refunding you when the buyer didn't have the funds? If there were no funds you wouldn't have received a payment anyway, so why would you send the parcel?
oh, frogt, PP may try to redirect you to eBay with your dispute, just scroll down to complete it with PP. It's quicker and more reliable
Filing a dispute is no hassle. You should definitely do that. Otherwise you are letting the guy win. As for him saying "not my problem", you could also message him back saying "paypal will be the judge of that!" :-)
they should defo offer you the proof of postage or a refund! x

Tracking number shows they posted 26/28th but nothing else and i certainly havent recvd the item....

I would leave feedback because the p/o...its because they have to fill out the form and theyr so damn rude and hostile id rather they shoved their money where the sun dont shine and take it on the chin...

Why the HELL would you not put a return address!! My feedback will be unhelpfull rude and said not my problem when item went missing!

Grrrrrrr i sell too and id never do that x
cathromsaron - do not make sweeping statements that are not true - you are WRONG!

Tink, whether or not the tracking number shows it has been posted, the seller is responsible for getting the time to you
Open a dispute - that will open the sellers eyes as to who's problem it is

You dont need a return address and it's the sellers fault for not putting it on. Actually, the PO would have insisted they put a return address on a tracked (signed for upon delivery) item so I think there may be a few little lies going on here as well

What tracking have you paid for? Is it coming via another courier? How do you now when it was posted?

When i spoke to royal mail tracking helpline they told me
It had been posted and when but no further info since x
Report to eBay and PayPal as Item Not Received.
You'll get your refund.
Well dont waste any more money calling them
PP dispute for INR, might take a few days or more but you'll get your money back inc postage costs
I have been buying and selling on Ebay for more than ten years, and normally only buy from sellers with 98%+ feedback. I bought something a couple of weeks ago and, for the first time, it did not arrive.

Message to sender was answered within the hour, and after waiting another few days they sent a replacement which arrived a day later.

Motto is, go for sellers with good feedback.
Even sellers with 100% FB play nasty sometimes
Raise a dispute with Paypal. It is really easy and it is up to the seller to do the leg work and get proof of postage and delivery. You don't need to talk to the Post Office or anything. If they can't prove delivery then you will most likely get a full refund.

It really is easy. Don't let the seller get away with it.
it does sound like the problem lies with the PO if they have confirmed the item has genuinely been posted...but unless he paid for insurance (unlikely) i dont think you can claim anything back...(not sure though, worth checking)

however his rudeness does not excuse him - many sellers geneuinely believe that once they post an item they have no further responsibilties...they dont realise that its still their property until it arrives in the buyers hands... when you message him point him to that info on ebay

i would also double check with the PO that the tracking number correspionds to YOUR address... and that he hasnt written some other one on it... you never know....
