Would using turps to remove stain maybe paint damage my carpet ?

I'd try in in an area normally out of sight first to be sure.
I'd expect it to be more dye fast than that. But if you are trying to get out paint, I'd not be overly optimistic.

No. I can't think of any carpet that would be damaged by it's limited use .. It may remove any protection treatment tho .. like Scotchguarding.
You just need to remove the solvent with mild detergent afterwards .. plus .. it will smell a bit for a while!
