Does anyone know what 08000445625 represents. I get a call from this number almost every day. It comes at a time when I am at work so I don't know why I am being called. Thanks.

>>>Or you could try calling them back.

Not a great suggestion when it may be a high rate line and may cost a lot to phone it.
Have you tried entering the number into Google? Have you tried phoning the number?
I just tried it. "The number you are calling has not been recognised. Please try again"
0800 tend not to be premium rate.
Bound to be someone selling something though.
It looks more like an 08000 number to me, the 445625 would seem to be the actual number (being 6 digit).
Its an automatically dialed cold call.
Dont call it back, to stop them just pick up the phone and either put it straight back down or give them a load of expletives, either should work
He cant do that Baz. They are calling when he is not at home.
0800 calls (from landlines) are normally free

In this case it looks like a false number displayed to fool those who don't answer withheld or unavailable numbers.

They will be trying to sell you something you don't want.
Record a 'number unobtainable' tone and transfer it to your answer machine message for when you're out. The auto dialling machine at the other end should recognise it and delete your number from its system. Here...

I would just ignore it.

It is bound to stop eventually
A lot of these calls originate in India and a computer calls about 10 different numbers all at once but only answers the first one to connect.
They seem to be able to attach any number they wish to appear on your phone.
Just google the number thats what I do. You'll find many other people have had calls from that number too.

A good answer to the wrong question, methinks.

I happened to be at home today when the number called. I lifted the phone briefly and without listening typed in a few random digits before placing the phone on its cradle. Checked a second or two later to hear a human being! It was BT trying to interest me in BT Infinity. I gave him short shrift having already rejected BT Infinity previously. It was only after hanging up that I remembered that I might have asked for no further calls from that number. Is BTobliged to cease calling when requested to do so as are other callers?
Thanks to everyone who tried to help me out,
