Hi Molly, as promised, a report on the cooked black potatoes. When I peeled them and cut them, parts of the insides were white, but it took about a dozen washes to remove the purple staining from my hands. I parboiled the potatoes - and the water turned a lovely shade of blue - and then I roasted them. They didn't go golden brown, they just stayed black, and the outsides weren't crispy - they were just smooth and a bit hard.

Conclusion: I definitely wouldn't buy them. They don't look appetising and the flavour is no different to that of a white potato. x

Haaa! Well that's one way of putting it, Ummmm! :o)
I mashed them....they looked awful on the plate. Didn't have the right consistency either.

I'm the spud queen :-)
Thanks naomi i think ill stick to sweet and normal potatoes then!

A wise choice, Molly! Ask the spud queen! :o)
Most certainly :-)
Is this potatoeism here with a touch of colour prejudice?
Lol, nannybooby potatoeism would indeed point at the colour but this is to do with texture and flavour so in real time would equate to dislike because of content of character!
