Anyoneone any idea why the digital time clock on my electric oven is fading in and out? It started recently when the oven was on but now seems to be fading off and on constantly. Keeps the right time no problem. Thanks

Is it mains or battery powered?
Question Author
Mains, a regular built in oven with seperate hob.
what make is it? Mine has taken to doing EXACTLY the same thing over the last couple of months. I presumed i'd just pushed a button i shouldn't have. It still keeps time, so i don't worry so much. mine is built in with seperate hob too

It's a Hotpoint, double oven and grill. As you say Bednobs, not too stressed but it does have me wondering.
mine too! hotpoint double oven/grill!

Weird, mines is about 3 years old, think I might email them tomorrow and see what they say.
mine is about 3 years old too!!!!!! you didn't get it via jewson's i suppose :)
Anyway, if you fond out, let me know!
chances are there is a cracked solder joint on the panel, or its supply. this can be caused by heating-cooling cycles.
