Ebay - Sending Seller a Message About Item

I messaged a seller about an item asking if he would accept an offer from me. Once sent I got a message saying it had been sent and an email would be sent to my private email.

I checked the item listing and no message was there. So, again I did the above.

I have checked the item listing on Ebay again and 2 other people have messaged him making an offer which he has accepted, but my message was not there.

I also checked my email and no copy of the message had been sent.

Anyone know why this happened?

did you make the offer via the button on the listing or did you just send an email to the seller? you must follow the correct procedure for the offer to be accepted
Not only that, but the seller to whom you sent the message must "click" a box that asks him/her if they want the message and their answer to be posted on the listing (at the bottom where it says "Questions". If they don't do that, then the question and response won't show up... (That's where you're question should have gone in the first place).

I messaged him an offer as someone had already done that and the seller said to the other person '£20 and it's yours'. The other person had not yet responded so also sent a message with an offer of £20. Then later on, someone else messaged offering £25 and the seller accepted andended the auction.

I am new to Ebay so don't know how it fully works.
maybe you were just out-offered, so no point in publishing your offer.
