how to remove dried wax on carpet

as title, i have been rather careless, i knocked a scented candle onto the carpet and made a lovely mess. However, the wife isn't best pleased. Plus side is the room still smells really nice! I have tried to greaseproof paper, and iron on a low heat setting but that has just made things worse!

Any suggestions?

Kitchen roll and a warm iron.

Get as much as it off as possible by picking at it then try sellotape, worked for me on chewing gum which is similar.

Apply packet of frozen peas to freeze wax then scrape off

I would not recommend using an electric iron if the carpet has been Scotchguarded. You will end up with a bigger mark as the Scotchguard reacts to heat.
