hi can anyone tell me if a po box address can be used as a residential adress. Many thanks.

How do you mean? I had a PO Box address for a small business once and I had to go and collect my mail from the sorting office.

I don't think so, it's for businesses not for private use - but read this, you can give any permanent address but you still have to collect the PO mail from the sorting office http://www.royalmail....600006&mediaId=600043

how would that work? surely a PO box address is linked to a specific post office. If you're travelling then you'd need to pick up from that particular sorting office.

Travellers probably used to use Post Restante, though I would imagine that nowadays they use mobile phones and computers like everyone else.
