I've just bought a timer switch to use with my washing machine but it says not to use with any appliance with a high powered motor and total power rating of over 3kW - how can I find out what rating my machine is - hotpoint aquarius extra WMA46. have mislaid the manual, have tried to find out on line but am baffled! It also says to ensure the power supply is 240v-50Hz max wattage 3000W - presume this is normal domestic supply. thank you

3000w (or 3KW, they are the same) is what a normal domestic 3 pin plug can supply.

So if it plugs in to a normal socket it will be fine.
