Does anyone have a suggestion as to where I might aquire a rowing boat (such as might be rented in a municipal park's boating lake) for my pond? Search engines seem to return details for self-build kits and sailing craft

Its possible to find GRP small rowing boats at many yards etc. A traditional pulling boat as used to be on boating lakes is difficult. All municipals were got rid though some still have GRP "bathtubs". Try round rowing clubs, talk to specialist publications. Unfortunately most traditional pulling boats are in a very poor state when hire fleets as many on the Thames, Warwickshire Avon etc etc., have finished with them, but they are worth a try. My own (built 1928) was a bit of a basket case when I obtained her. It tooka year and some skilled traditional craftsmen to put her right. Unfortunately its not cheap. If this is what you want and are not prepared to spend 3,000 plus forget it and buy a GRP imitation. There are loads about. It will take time and patience to find a real one.
