Hi,

Just got in from work and tried to run a bath but there is only a slow trickle from the hot tap, just checked and its the same downstairs on the kitchen tap.The cold water seem s to fine!!
Any ideas what this could be and how to fix it? I do not have the money to call a plumber out.
I have had a drip on the cold water tap in the bathroom for a while now, would that have anything to do with it?

Please could you help me,im a painter on a building site and i need a bath!!

Thanks.

feel the hot tank; if it's cold there may be an air lock.

PainterGuy ........ I could think of a few things that could cause it............ but all of them would need a boiler engineer to fix.
I honestly can't think of anything that you could do yourself :o(((

Thanks for your help, will have to leave it as it is until i can find an affordable plumber.
Most handymen can make this gauge for nothing! Use approx a foot length of hosepipe with a hose connector at one end and a trimmed car tyre valve at the other. Cut the valve until it can be forced into the hose by approx 1". Use a Jubilee clip or wrap and twist wire around the hose to secure the valve. Attach to the tap, turn on and use a car tyre pressure gauge to read the approximate pressure (1 bar = 14.5 psi)
Do you have a mixer tap downstairs? One way to clear an airblock if you have is to put turn the hot tap on and then the cold on fully with your finger over the nozzle..you'll probably get quite a bit of spray but that the pressure from the mains (cold) will push to the airlock back to the tank.
