When tiling a bathroom...do the tiles go right behind the bath...or up to the bath? (for the neatest watertight finish? ) thanks julie

The bath gets installed first, flush to the wall, then the tiles get attached to the wall leaving a small gap beneath (say 3mm) that later gets filled with silicone. FILL THE BATH with water before running the bead of silicone in - that way the weight of water in the bath pulls it down a bit - then the silicone joint won't break the seal between the lower tile edge tile (under tension) later.
