Ants appeared in my house several weeks ago

and i think it may be because i got this white lilly plant, and that has attracted them, do you think it is??? they have now spread to my living room, it will be impossible to find the nest and pest control are charging £35, i cannot afford to pay that, so what can i do to get rid once and for all?.......thanks

I think you can buy a aerosol or something to spray on them suzie...

difficult one suzie! I don't think the plant would attract them really, but I'd be tempted to put it outdoors, just in case the nest is in the compost. you can buy tubes of an ant killer called 'Nippon' from most hardware/gardening stores, it's a sticky gel, and you can put it onto small containers, the ants eat it and take it back to the nest, feeding it to their offspring and themselves, and it does kill them, but it takes a week or so!............Hope this is of some help.............

jacks not my friend mam, he absolutely hates me.....and piggy was sticking up for him, but piggy seems nice so. sorry piggy for being horrid, u were helpful to me on the baked pot thread, im feeling very sensitive, coz my tummy hurts and where ever i walk in the house ants are taking over, i went down and they were watching south park, told em to get out!!!

well he is old and wise, so i thought if he said talk to them, i will try it and if it works ill be nice to him, but it didnt, they just looked at me and swore, i must be losing the plot!!!!
